TNGCL hike CNG, PNG prices with effect from Nov 20
The Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) in accordance with the order of Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and increased gas price and others has once again increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) with effective date from November 20th and also hiked the price of PNG (domestic pipeline gas).
The hiked of the CNG and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) prices would affect above 40,000 domestic consumers of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in and around Agartala and above 500 commercial and small industrial consumers across Agartala. The TNGCL presently operates many CNG stations, which dispense CNG to over 15,000 vehicles every day.
The revised rates which came into effect from November 20 were communicated through an official notification issued by the company and claimed that price hike is attributed to an increase in gas procurement costs and other related factors.
Under the new pricing structure, CNG will cost Rs 75.91 per kg in West Tripura District from Rs 75.41, while in other districts the price will rise to Rs 80.49 per kg from the previous Rs 79.99. For PNG, the domestic non-governmental rate will be Rs 39.05 per Standard Cubic Meter (SCM), compared to Rs 38.55 earlier. Commercial and industrial users in Agartala and West Tripura District will have to pay their bill at Rs 49.50 per SCM, an increase from Rs 49.00, while the domestic government rate in West Tripura District will be Rs 43.89 per SCM, an increase from Rs 43.39. Additionally, the price for PNG at the Bodhjungnagar Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) has been increased to Rs 37.35 per SCM from Rs 37.20.
