TPSC chairman and son detained after scuffle with Minister Susanta Chowdhury’s security personnel
An altercation and scuffle reportedly broke out between the security personnel of Minister Susanta Chowdhury and Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) Chairman Colonel Kush Kumar Sharma at Hotel Polo Towers on Sunday night during ‘Prabashi Tripurabashi’ summit, following which the chairman and his son were detained by police.
Minister Susanta Chowdhury had attended the ‘Prabashi Tripurabashi’ Summit held at Hotel Polo Towers. After the programme concluded, the minister asked for his vehicle to be brought to the front of the hotel. At that time, a vehicle belonging to TPSC Chairman Colonel Kush Kumar Sharma was parked in front of the hotel.
Security personnel requested that the chairman’s vehicle be moved to allow the minister’s car to approach. However, instead of complying, the chairman allegedly got into an argument with the security staff and one time, he along with his son manhandled the security personnel. According to the complaint, he allegedly grabbed a jawan by the collar and attempted to push him.
It has further been alleged that the TPSC chairman was not in a stable condition at the time of the incident. As the situation escalated, senior police officials rushed to the spot to control the situation.
Eventually, the chairman and his son were taken from the hotel to a hospital for medical examination. After the medical check-up, both were brought to the New Capital Complex (NCC) police station for further action.
