Tripura cabinet approves two vital schemes for girl child, minorities
TSECL to fill up 104 vacant posts of managers, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury
In a significant decision, the Tripura Cabinet has decided to launch two public welfare schemes including ‘Chief Minister Minority Welfare Scheme’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana’ to provide different facilities.
While, briefing media over cabinet decisions, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday at Civil Secretariat in Agartala said that the Tripura cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday has decided to fill up 104 vacant posts in Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL).
Giving details of cabinet decisions, Chowdhury said that among 104 posts in TSECL includes 36 vacant posts of Grade-A Manager and 68 Grade-B Managers. Among the 36 Grade-A posts, 24 posts are reserved for B Tech (Electrical) engineers, 4 posts for B Tech (Mechanical) and 8 more posts for B Tech (Civil) engineers.
Among 68 Grade-B posts, candidates with Diploma engineering in Electrical can apply for 58 posts, two posts for diploma in Mechanical engineering and 8 posts for diploma in Civil engineering, said Chowdhury and added that the department will directly fill up these posts through recruitment process.
In order to strengthen the economic structure of people from minority communities, the cabinet has approved a new scheme ‘Chief Minister Minority Welfare Scheme’ and a sum of Rs. 1.50 crore has been allotted for the scheme, said Chowdhury.
He said that under this scheme, the Minority Welfare department will provide Rs. 10,000 to each beneficiary for dairy, poultry (Chicken and duck) and other small business through two installments and in the primary stage altogether 1500 beneficiaries will get the benefit of the scheme.
The cabinet also decided to open the state's second Women College at Nalchar area of Sonamura subdivision.
Chowdhury said that under ‘Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana’, the state government has decided to provide final support for two daughters of ‘Antodhoy’ families and as per scheme, an amount of Rs. 50,000 will be fixed in bank after birth girl child in any ‘Antodhoy’ family and her parents can utilize the amount when she will cross the age limit of 18 years.
Government has also fixed some conditions to get the benefit of the ‘Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana’, which includes the birth of girl child should be in any government health centre or hospitals, age of mother should be above 18 years and 9 months and the girl child should have to unmarried till her age of 18-years, said minister and added that the Social Welfare and Social Education department will implement the scheme.
Chowdhury also said that the cabinet has also approved the ‘Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy’ under the Industries and Commerce department and under this scheme, the government will give loan to women, especially from rural areas of the state for their self-reliance with highest limit of Rs. 1 crore with 35% subsidy.
