Tripura govt to sign MoU with Taiwan’s Providence University for collaborative studies, exchange programme

In an effort to offer quality education with the latest technological innovations, Tripura government has decided   to collaborate with a Taiwanese University.

The state-run Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) is set to collaborate with Providence University, a university based in Taiwan. The statement mentioned that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be executed shortly on this matter.

This collaboration is hailed as a groundbreaking step in the state's educational landscape. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr  Manik Saha and in alignment with the National Education Policy-2020, the state Education Department has been striving to elevate the quality of education in Tripura. This concerted effort has led to a fresh impetus in the field of higher education in the state.

The State Government is also actively pursuing collaborations with foreign universities to facilitate access to contemporary education for the students of Tripura. As a result of these endeavors, Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) in Narsingarh is set to join hands with Taiwan's Providence University, a result of the Chief Minister’s unwavering commitment to expanding educational horizons.

The Chief Minister on Saturday granted approval for the execution of a Memorandum of partnership between Tripura Institute of Technology in Narsingarh and Providence University in Taiwan. Once this MoU is formalized, students and faculty at TIT, Narsingarh will gain access to many opportunities at Providence University in Taiwan. This collaboration will enable students and faculty at TIT to engage in university exchange programs at Providence University, free from any financial burdens. Additionally, representatives from TIT can participate in joint research initiatives, publications, seminars, and academic meetings. Special short-term educational programs, complete with academic resources, will be jointly organized between the two institutions.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed strong optimism that this partnership will elevate TIT to an international standard institution, undoubtedly contributing to the overall development of the institute. Furthermore, this agreement will provide a platform for students with exceptional talents in Tripura to interact with their international counterparts. It is anticipated that this collaboration will enhance TIT's recognition under the NBA and its NIRF rankings.

Various renowned universities from outside the state have extended their support to provide quality education in Tripura. Aryabhatta University in Dharmanagar and Dhammadeepa International Intellectual University in Sabroom have already been launched. Additionally, Forensic Science University, the state's first government-level English medium college, Aurobindo College, and a Law University in Narsinghgarh are now operational.
