The Tripura Khet Mazdoor Union (TKMU) is a prominent, left-leaning trade union in Tripura dedicated to agricultural workers, daily wage laborers, and rural peasantry on Tuesday celebrated its 47th foundation day at Chhatra Yuva Bhavan in Agartala with various programmes and discussions.

The event began with the hoisting of the organization’s flag by vice-president of the All India Khet Mazdoor Union, Bhanu Lal Saha. A moment of silence was also observed in memory of martyrs.

Addressing the gathering, secretary of the Tripura Khet Mazdoor Union, Shyamal De, highlighted the organisation’s journey and activities since its inception.

As part of the foundation day programme, a seminar on “Fascism, extreme right-wing politics and neo-fascism” was also organized.

It may be mentioned that the Tripura Khet Mazdoor Union was established in 1980 through a two-day conference held in Udaipur.
