TSECL takes major leap in cyber security with new policy

The Board of Directors of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) under the Chairmanship of Abhishek Singh, Secretary of the Power department of Tripura and the guidance of Biswajit Basu, MD, TSECL has approved the "IT/OT/IoT and Cyber Security Policy" of TSECL, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to cyber security. This comprehensive policy, developed in-house by TSECL engineers, adheres to guidelines set by the Central Electricity Authority, MoP, and other relevant authorities.

The new policy will provide a robust framework for protecting TSECL's data, IT infrastructure, and consumers' sensitive information. The benefits of this policy will be far-reaching, with advantages for consumers, employees, and stakeholders alike.

Consumers will enjoy enhanced security for their personal data and online transactions. Employees will benefit from clear guidelines and best practices for IT usage, reducing the risk of data breaches and cyber threats. Stakeholders will appreciate the increased transparency and accountability that comes with a well-defined IT policy.

A robust IT policy will also enable TSECL to protect against cyber-attacks and data breaches, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, improve incident response and disaster recovery, enhance employee productivity and efficiency and foster a culture of cyber security awareness

TSECL through a press statement said that they commitment to cyber security is a testament to its dedication to providing reliable, secure, and efficient electricity services to the people of Tripura.
