TSECL with BEE launched demand side management measures

Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Green Tree Global, successfully launched its Demand Side Management (DSM) measures on March 21, 2025, at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala. This landmark event, attended by over 70 distinguished officials and industry experts (MSME Industries, Tripura Jal Board, TIDC Ltd. , NEEPCO , Residential Consumers, EESL , KSB ) marks a significant step in Tripura’s commitment to enhancing energy efficiency across both residential and commercial sectors.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest Muhammad Sajad P, Managing Director, TIDC Ltd, who underscored the state’s dedication to promoting sustainable energy practices. In his special address, He outlined the TIDC’s long-term vision of reducing energy consumption and improving grid reliability through a comprehensive DSM framework.

The event was also graced by other key dignitaries, including Mr Swapan Debbarma, General Manager TSECL, Guest of honour,  Er. Sima DAS AGM & SDA Nodal TSECL ,Mr Gopal Karmakar, General Manager NEEPCO, Mr Mongsi Mog, Superintending Engineer, Tripura Jal Board. Dr. C. S Azad, Team Lead for the North East zone, Mr Biswajit Nath, Energy Auditor provided a detailed overview of ongoing efforts to boost demand-side efficiency and highlighted the expected positive impact of DSM measures on energy conservation across the region. The event concluded with an interactive session, where audience had the opportunity to provide feedback and raise queries, fostering further discussion on the implementation and impact of the DSM initiatives.

A key highlight of the event was the demonstration of the Home Energy Management System (HEMS), Walk-Through Energy Audit of MSME Industries showcasing its potential in optimizing energy usage. Additionally, the unveiling of energy-efficient products attracted significant attention.

Leading vendors, including EESL and KSB, displayed their latest innovations, contributing to the state’s ambitious DSM targets. Representatives from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) engaged in discussions on innovative technologies and their role in strengthening DSM initiatives in Tripura. This launch marks the beginning of a transformative journey for Tripura, toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. With key stakeholders from the government, private sector, and civil society united in their efforts, the state is committed to lead the way in advancing its DSM agenda.
