Two bike lifters arrested, 2 stolen bikes recovered
In a successful operation, the East Agartala police on Saturday managed to arrest two motorbike lifters and have also recovered two stolen bikes from a jungle near Agartala Bypass road.
Giving details, SDPO (Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said in the last month November and in the mid part of current December, the East Agartala police station has receipt two separate complaints of stolen incidents of motorbike from Natunpalli area of Dhaleshwar and Rentus Colony area of Bankumari.
Based on these complaints, OC Rana Chatterjee formed an investigation team and with help of local people, police on Saturday managed to arrest two motor bike lifters identified as Suman Bhattacharjee and Biswajit Saha.
Later in the process of interrogation, both arrested lifters revealed their committed crimes and based on their interrogation statements; police has also recovered both stolen bikes from a jungle near Agartala Bypass road.
SDPO said both arrested thieves were produced before a local court n Saturday with police remand appeals for further interrogation and to get the details of their bike stolen network. He hoped that soon other culprits involved with bike lifting gang will be arrested by the investigation team.
