Two drug peddlers arrested with large quantities of contraband items near a school

The Agartala city police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers with large quantities of contraband items near a school.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station, Subrata Debnath said that based on secret information, police forces raided at a house near Prachya Bharati school of Dhaleshwar area of Agartala on Saturday, where one suspected drug peddler, identified as Mithu Majumder stay at the rented house.
During the raid at that rented house, police recovered large quantities of Brown Sugar filled in 137 vials and large number Yaba tablets with some cash.
OC said that based on the interrogation statement of the arrested drug peddler, police have also arrested his associate, identified as Akash Miah from Joynagar area with a scooty.
He said that both arrested drug peddlers running a drug selling network in all adjoining areas near Prachya Bharati School targeting the younger generation.
Debnath added that during preliminary interrogation, arrested drug peddlers revealed their drug selling network and they will produce before a local court with police remand appeals on Sunday in a case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
