Two members of mobile snatcher gang arrested, 10 stolen smartphones recovered
Two infamous mobile snatchers were arrested by Agartala police on Sunday and recovered 10 smartphones, motorbike from their possessions.
Giving details, OC of East Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee said that police has received a complaint from Kishna Majumder of MG Bazar a few days ago, who had complained that on the way to his house, two persons with a motor bike snatched his mobile phone.
Based on the complaint police started an investigation and found a mobile snatcher gang was actively involved with looting many mobile phones from pedestrians or from bike riders.
On Sunday, the investigation team of police managed to arrest two noted thieves identified as Sudip Das of Rantus Colony of Jogendranagar and Subrata Das of Pratapgarh area of Agartala.
OC said that during preliminary interrogation, arrested snatchers revealed they along with their associates snatched many mobile phones from pedestrians and from bike riders. Police also recovered 10 smart phones, worth of Rs. 3 lakh under their possession and both arrested snatchers were also produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
Police hoped that soon they would be able to arrest remaining members of the mobile snatcher gang.
