Two peddlers arrested with large quantities of Heroin from Dharmanagar

In continuation of anti-drug operations by Tripura police in different parts of the state, the Dharmanagar police station under North Tripura district on Friday achieved a major success by spoiling a big drug deal and managed to arrest two drug peddlers with seizure of good quantities of Heroin.
Police sources said that based on secret information over dealing of a drug consignment among peddlers at Dighalbak to Durgapur route under Dharmanagar police station, they laid a trap to arrest drug peddlers.
Police sources added that as per the information, they detained a suspected motorbike moving in the road with heavy speed and in the course of search operation, police recovered two big packets of Heroin from bike rider and his pillion rider, who were identified as John Shuklabaidhya and Rajdeep Chasa of Algapur village.
Police added that a total of 22 grams Heroin along with hundreds of vials were recovered under the possessions and both drug peddlers were arrested in a specific case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
Police also said that they have initiated an investigation to get details of the drug trade network and both arrested peddlers will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
