Unnatural death of young housewife in Sabroom, family alleges murder by husband
Issuing unnatural death of a young housewife at a tribal dominated village in Betaga area of Sabroom under South Tripura district triggered massive tension after family members of deceased woman filed a murder case against her husband..
Sources said that one housewife, identified as Samita Tripura (32), wife of John Kumar Tripura allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday night and immediately, she was shifted Manu Bazar Rural hospital by her family persons.
After seeing her deteriorated conditions, visiting doctors referred her to South Tripura district hospital in critical condition, but the district hospital declared her brought dead.
After the announcement of her death, the accused husband brought her body to his house for last rites without any police complaint and post-mortem.
Later, one brother of the deceased woman informed the incident to Manu police station and police rushed to the house of John Kumar Debbarma; they took the body and shifted to a hospital morgue for autopsy.
While relatives and brother of the deceased woman, alleged that Samita did not committed suicide and she was killed by her husband through his inhuman torture on her. They also alleged that there were multiple injuries of the face and other parts of the deceased woman and she often was being a subject brutal torture by her husband.
They demanded immediate arrest of her accused husband and other in-laws for the brutal killing of Samita.
The police added that they have registered an unnatural death (UD) case and started an investigation to unearth the actual reason of her death. Police also said that till finding the autopsy report, they cannot say anything specifically over the reason of the death.
