Valedictory session of the Workshop on Pali Teaching & Literature held at CSU, Ekalavya Campus

The valedictory session of the workshop on Pali Teaching and Literature held on Monday within the auspicious presence of Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

 In his speech, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu opined that Sanskrit embeds it itself the vast trove of knowledge and is the most scientific language. Further, he highlighted various career opportunities for Sanskrit learners. He even highlighted various interdisciplinary research dimensions for Sanskrit scholars and referred translation work as another vast dimension with potentiality of generating employment for Sanskrit learners. In his speech, he even added that Pali as a language of Buddhist canonical and non-canonical texts is an inevitable part of Indian Knowledge System and all the Higher Educational Institutions must adopt the proper strategy for promotion of the same. He even congratulated Central Sanskrit University for organizing such kinds of academic event. Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the Campus, delivered the welcome address whereas Dr. Uttam Singh, Assistant Professor (Bouddha Darshan) from CSU, Lucknow Campus, presented the report of this 30-day long workshop.

Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi also graced the session. In his address, he commented that Sanskrit has the potentiality of becoming the language of Bharat. Further, he opined that Bharat is the confluence of three languages namely, Sanskrit, Pali & Prakrit. In his speech, he even opined that Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus is totally dedicated to the local people of Tripura. Besides, he said that Northeast region is the fertile ground of Buddhist philosophy and this conducive phenomena will disseminate the message of humanity contained in the Pali literature and philosophy for the welfare of human beings.  Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, Head of the Department of Buddha Darshan and Pali, Ekalavya Campus, delivered the vote of thanks. In this 30-day long workshop dignitaries, resource person and participants took part from various parts of the country.All the staff and students of the campus remained present in the valedictory session. The session was coordinated by Dr. Ganeshwar Nath Jha, Assistant Professor (Vyakaran).
