Workshop on Pali Education, literature inaugurated at CSU, Ekalavya Campus

Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus at Lembucherra, Tripura inaugurated a workshop on Pali Education, Literature on Sunday which is to be continued up to March 4th.

Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, opined that as the Sun rises first in the Northeast Region, Ekalavya Campus at Agartala should be prioritized and selected as the centre of this first workshop in Pali as this will prove conducive in promoting Pali in the entire Northeast Region. Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura Central University, remained present as the Chief Guest in the inaugural session. In his speech, Prof. Prasain opined that Pali as a language of Buddhist canonical and non-canonical texts embeds in itself the message of sattvik way of living and thus appeals to the masses since the time immemorial.Shri Tripti Kant Hati, DIG, CRPF, graced this session as the Special Guest. Dr. Jaywant Khandare, Co-Coordinator of this workshop from CSU, Lucknow Campus, delivered the keynote address.

Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the campus presided over the session and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi for giving privilege in organizing this workshop here in the Northeast region as this region is the fertile ground of Buddhist philosophy and this conducive phenomena will disseminate the message of humanity contained in the Pali literature and philosophy for the welfare of human beings. Prof. (Dr.) Dinanatha Sharma, Convenor of this workshop chaired the session as Guest of honour whereas Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, Head of the Department of Buddha Darshan and Pali, Ekalavya Campus and Dr. Chakradhar Meher, Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi are the Coordinators of this workshop. In this 30-day long workshop dignitaries, resource person and participants are taking part from various parts of the country. All the staff and students of the campus remained present in the inaugural session.
