Yuva Shakti backbone of nation-building: CM

Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha emphasized that Yuva Shakti (youth) is the main asset of the country and the state, and they should actively participate in nation building.

Dr Saha was addressing the inaugural session of Heritage Fest- 2024 organized by Yuva Vikas Kendra at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, Agartala on Thursday evening, expressed his delight at attending the event, stating, “It feels great to be here as it seems like a mini India.”

“Over the past three years, I have been attending this event. This is an international-level festival as youths from neighboring countries also participate. Such festivals are crucial as they help foster bonds among people. Our first priority is our nation, and we must work together to build a great nation. When PM Modi visits foreign countries, he always says that our main asset is our youth, and he feels proud of it. In our state too, the youth are our asset. To maintain the environment, youths should play a key role,” he said.

Dr Saha further added that PM Modi has often reiterated that the country’s development is impossible without developing the Northeast.

“We never imagined such advancements in rail connectivity, national highways, and other infrastructure. Now, one can travel from one part of the state to another in significantly less time. The youth also aspire to development. They must join the process of progress, and programs like these will facilitate cultural and linguistic exchange among the states. Law and order have improved significantly in the state, encouraging investors to come here. Our government has a zero-tolerance policy against crimes and violence, and we address issues as promptly as possible,” he said.

The event was also attended by Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy, vice-chairman of the State Level Advisory Committee of the ICA Department- Subrata Chakraborty, CEO of Viswa Yuva Kendra, New Delhi- Udayashankar Singh, and Debasish Majumder of Yuva Vikas Kendra.
