'I have got good on-the-job training for 200 days,' JD Vance says he is ready to be US President, hails Trump
US Vice President JD Vance said he is ready to be the President of the country, given that Donald Trump is serving his second term as the head of the country.
In an exclusive interview with USA Today, when asked if he is ready for the presidential job, Vance said: “I've gotten a lot of good on-the-job training over the last 200 days.”
President Trump was 78 when he began his second term in office and is the oldest person to have been sworn in as president of the United States.
Vance, however, praised Trump's energy even at this age.
“The president is in incredibly good health. He's got incredible energy," Vance told USA Today.
The White House, in July, announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common vein condition, after images taken of the president showed visible swelling in his lower legs.
However, Vance was keen on portraying a healthy image of his boss, stating, "He's the last person making phone calls at night, and he's the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning."
Trump was the target of two assassination attempts last year during his campaign as a presidential candidate.
Speaking on the same, Vance said: "Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people."
“And if, God forbid, there's a terrible tragedy, I can't think of better on-the-job training than what I've gotten over the last 200 days,” he added.
