Pakistan: Terrorists attack a passenger vehicle in Pakistan, 6 people dead
Suspected terrorists killed at least six people after they targeted a passenger vehicle in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Kurram district of the province.
Kohat Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat said in a statement, “Six passengers have been killed in a tragic incident of firing on a passenger vehicle in Lower Kurram, reported Dawn News.
“A search operation has been launched after the terrorist incident,” he said.
He said 12 were later detained during the operation and even large number of weapons were recovered from them.
“Terrorists will not be spared under any circumstances. No one will be allowed to disturb regional peace,” RPO Marwat was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Hameed Hussain condemned the incident and described the episode as an attempt to disrupt peace in the region.
“Such incidents are regrettable even after the establishment of check posts on the main highway,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
