Pakistani embassy in Kabul attacked, 1 hurt
Kabul: Pakistan’s Head of Mission to Kabul Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani has escaped an assassination bid after the foreign office was attacked on Friday, media reports said.
In a statement, the ministry said the embassy’s compound in Kabul came under attack targeting the head of mission, but "by the grace of Allah Almighty, the head of mission is safe," reports Geo News.
A Pakistani security guard Sepoy Israr Mohammad has been critically injured in the attack while protecting Nizamani, the Foreign Office said.
Several top Pakistan leaders have criticised the attack.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilwal Bhutto Zardari said: "Spoken with my Head of Mission in Kabul @ubaidniz . Whom earlier survived an assassination attempt. We condemn this in the strongest possible terms. The safety & security of our diplomats are of fundamental importance. We salute bravery of Sepoy Israr & pray for his swift recovery."

Politician Hina Rabbani Kar tweeted: " Assassination attempt on Nizamani sb our HOM in Kabul is condemnable. HOM Nizamani has served this relationship well and his safety & security will remain the highest priority for the Govt of Pakistan. Prayers & the nation’s thanks to Sepoy Israr Mohammad who s critically wounded."
