Unknown attackers destroy Ahmadiyya mosque in Pakistan's Karachi city v
Unknown attackers targeted a mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan's Karachi city, media reports said on Sunday.
The attackers reportedly chanted slogans against the Ahmadiyya community during the assault, heightening concerns about the safety and security of this religious minority in Pakistan, reported News Intervention.
A video of the incident has gone viral on the internet.
The attackers could be seen in the video allegedly snatching arms from the cops present at the scene.
Sharing the video on X, Journalist Riaz Sohail Janjhi wrote: "#Karachi in dastgir area, Unknown persons attacked the Ahmedi community worship place , they chanted the slogan and try to snatched weapon from Police @KarachiPolice."
A mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)'s Kotli region was vandalised by a group of 50 persons last month.
The community members often face persecution in Pakistan.
Sources told ANI that a group of 50 people equipped with hammers, shovels, and sticks formed a mob and stormed the mosque on Monday, injuring eight Ahmadi worshippers, including five women, and destroying all of the mosque's four minarets.
