K Kavitha quits KCR's BRS a day after her suspension over 'anti-party activities'

Hyderabad/IBNS: K Kavitha quit the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) a day after she was suspended from the party which is spearheaded by her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, media reports said.
Kavitha, an MLC, was suspended by the BRS on Tuesday over "anti-party activities".
Speaking to the media, Kavitha said as quoted by News 18, "It is very painful that I am suddenly suspended from the BRS party."
"I am not going with any party, but will discuss with the Telangana Jagruti members and decide on the next steps," she added.
Suspending Kavitha, BRS leaders Soma Bharat Kumar and T. Ravinder Rao on Tuesday said in a statement, "Party MLC Smt. K. Kavitha, in view of her future legal cases, inquiries, and the related issues concerning the future activities of the BRS Party, the party leadership has carefully considered the matter.
"Party President Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has taken the decision to suspend Smt. K. Kavitha from the party with immediate effect."
Kavitha on Monday openly accused her cousins- Harish Rao and J. Santosh Kumar- of corruption and conspiring with the Telangana government and the CBI to tarnish her father's (KCR’s) reputation.
She described them as "anacondas of corruption," marking her comments as especially provocative.
Her accusations came in the context of the CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project .
BRS leadership reportedly held late-night discussions at KCR’s farmhouse before deciding on the suspension, reflecting the gravity of the political challenge.
What is Telangana Jagruthi?
Telangana Jagruthi (meaning “Awakening”) is a socio-cultural organization founded by BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in August 2006 and officially registered in November 2007. It emerged from the Telangana statehood movement and aimed to instill regional pride and social mobilization among youth and women.
Over time, its scope extended well beyond cultural activism, encompassing education, employment, welfare, and grassroots political training.
