Lucknow: Class 7 girl allegedly gang-raped in hotel. She went to meet her Insta 'friend'
Lucknow/IBNS: A Class 7 girl’s meeting with someone she had befriended on Instagram took a horrifying turn when she was allegedly confined to a hotel room in Lucknow and gang-raped repeatedly over two days.
Police have filed an FIR and arrested two suspects, while the prime accused remains at large.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the minor had begun chatting online with a man named Vimal Yadav.
The two later started conversing over phone calls. On November 2, Vimal invited her to meet in person.
When the girl reached the agreed location, she found Vimal accompanied by two friends, Piyush Mishra and Shubham Shukla, in a Scorpio SUV.
Vimal persuaded her to join them for a drive, and they eventually went to a hotel on IIM Road.
Once inside the hotel room, the girl’s phone was taken away, and the three men allegedly kept her captive and assaulted her in turns.
Two days later, they reportedly dropped her near her house and fled.
The mother said her daughter was in deep shock and broke down when questioned about her whereabouts.
The girl recounted that when she resisted the assault, the men beat her and threatened to share videos of the incident online.
Police have booked the accused under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Piyush and Shubham have been arrested, and a search is underway for Vimal Yadav, the main offender.
Officers confirmed that the complaint was lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station and said, “A case has been registered under relevant provisions, and two suspects are in custody. Further investigation is ongoing.”
