Indian PM Narendra Modi has decided to cut short his Saudi Arabia visit and return to India early Wednesday morning after a terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's popular Pahalgam town on Tuesday left at least 26 people, including two foreigners, dead.

Modi, who was on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, was earlier scheduled to arrive in India on Wednesday night.

Modi, held bilateral talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah. However,  in view of the terrorist attack in Kashmir, PM Modi skipped the official dinner hosted by Saudi Arabia and has decided to cut short his visit, a government source told Mint.

Modi condemns the attack

Earlier in the day, Modi said those behind the Pahalgam terror attack will be 'brought to justice'.

Modi wrote on X: "I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected."
