US embassy in Delhi issues tender for 1,200 HEPA filter sets amid rising air pollution
New Delhi/IBNS: As Delhi continues to battle hazardous air pollution levels, the US Embassy in New Delhi has floated a tender seeking 1,200 boxes of True HEPA filter sets for its Blueair 500 and 600 series air purifiers, Hindustan Times reported.
The embassy, which uses Blueair air purifier systems, has sought filter sets compatible with Blueair 501, 503, 510, 601, 603, and 650E models, according to the solicitation document.

The tender was issued on November 18, 2025, and bids were invited until November 30, 2025, reflecting growing concerns over the capital’s air quality as winter pollution peaks.
Delhi’s air quality plunged further on Friday morning, with the overall AQI touching 384 at 8 am, pushing the national capital deep into the “very poor” category as residents struggle to breathe during peak winter.
According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Mundka remained the most polluted locality with an AQI of 436, followed by Rohini (432). Jahangirpuri (420) and Anand Vihar (408) were also among the severely affected pockets, prompting residents to consider temporary relocation.

The situation was no better across the National Capital Region. Noida recorded an AQI of 404, while Greater Noida and Ghaziabad registered 377 and 350, respectively, continuing to remain in the “very poor” zone.
Air pollution during Delhi’s winter months is a recurring crisis, with a thick blanket of smog engulfing the city each year. The capital—home to the residences of the President, Vice President, and Prime Minister—struggles annually with this toxic haze.
