‘A story to grow up with’: Alia Bhatt’s Don’t Be Shy unveiled on Prime Video slate
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt’s next film as a producer, Don’t Be Shy, is set to premiere on Prime Video in October this year.
The release timeline was announced as Prime Video unveiled its new slate of Indian originals, featuring an expansive lineup of series and films across formats and languages.
The film marks a collaboration between Prime Video and Eternal Sunshine Productions, helmed by Alia and her sister Shaheen Bhatt.
Speaking at the announcement event, Alia said, “Don’t Be Shy is a film that we literally cannot wait for the audience to watch and it would not have been possible without our partners.”
Shaheen added, “We fell in love with the idea of the film immediately when Sreeti Mukerji had communicated it to us.”

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the coming-of-age romantic comedy introduces four new faces and revolves around a 20-year-old girl, Shyamili Das, also known as Shy, whose seemingly well-planned life takes unexpected turns.
Don’t Be Shy marks Alia’s latest collaboration with Prime Video. She had earlier served as executive producer on the web series Poacher.
Her last feature film as a producer was Jigra, starring Vedang Raina, which explored a story of sibling love.
On the acting front, Alia will next be seen in Alpha, slated for release this year, followed by Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, expected to hit theatres next year.
