Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin, who were in on-and-off relationship, broke up: Reports
New York/IBNS: American actress Dakota Johnson and Coldplay star singer Chris Martin, who have been in an on-and-off relationship, have parted their ways, media reports said.
In a report where PEOPLE quoted multiple sources, it is said that the two have ended their eight-year-long relationship.
"It feels final this time," one source has been quoted by PEOPLE.
Dakota, 35, and 48-year-old Chris were first romantically linked in 2017.
Though they tried to keep their relationship private, the couple were spotted in various places together.
On a recent occasion, they were photographed together in Malibu on May 16.
Earlier this year, Dakota and Chris were seen hand-in-hand during Coldplay's India tour.
Though their courtship was going well despite a few hiccups, two reasons that have caused the split were the age gap between the two and Dakota's wish to have kids.
While the Fifty Shades of Grey actress wanted to have kids, the Coldplay lead singer, who has two children with his former wife Gwyneth Paltrow, was not interested, a report by the U.S. Sun says.
"They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life but they discussed it," a source told the U.S. Sun.
Meanwhile on the work front, Dakota is waiting for the release of Materialists, a romantic comedy co-starring Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans.
The film, which is directed by Celine Song, is slated to release on June 13.
