Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's father Deb Mukherjee passes away at 83
Mumbai/IBNS: Veteran Indian actor Deb Mukherjee, who is the father of popular filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, passed away at the age of 83 on Friday.
Mukherjee passed away at around 9:30 am after he was hospitalised.
He was suffering from age-related health issues.
The funeral is scheduled to be held at 4 pm at Pawan Hans in Mumbai.
Mukherjee's relatives and popular Bollywood personalities- Tanuja, Kajol and Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, Tanissha, Aditya Chopra- will be attending the funeral.
Bollywood power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt- who are Ayan's close friends- are also expected to attend the funeral.
Other B-Town power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, tinseltown stars Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra are likely to be at the funeral too.
Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Mukherjee is known for films like Karate, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, King Uncle.
His last film was Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey, a Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer film released in 2009.
Mukherjee is also the father-in-law of eminent filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker.
Ayan is the son from Mukherjee's second marriage.
