Hoichoi Studios drops trailer of The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika

Kolkata/IBNS: Hoichoi Studios has unveiled the much-awaited trailer of its next film, The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Joydeep Mukherjee.
Offering audiences a thrilling glimpse into Eken Babu’s most spectacular adventure yet.
Packed with vibrant visuals of Benaras, an electrifying mystery, and the grandeur of Masaan Holi, the film is all set to release in theatres on 16th May 2025.
The newly released trailer paints a vivid and thrilling canvas: it opens with a breathtaking aerial sweep of Benaras — the ancient city shimmering in golden sunlight, with bustling ghats, majestic temples, and narrow alleys alive with stories. Amid the spiritual energy of the city, Eken Babu, played by Anirban Chakrabarti, arrives with his usual endearing blend of wit and curiosity.
He is invited to experience the grandeur of the Masaan Holi — captured on screen with stunning visuals of burning pyres, clouds of color, and thrumming drums — when an unexpected theft plunges him into a thrilling investigation.
Eken Babu’s trusted companions, Babi Babu, played by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Pramatha, played by Somak Ghosh, are seen accompanying him, providing both assistance and occasional comic relief as the mystery deepens.
The film also features a powerful ensemble cast. Ishaa Saha portrays Damini, a character who moves between sweetness and deception, her every action laden with intrigue. Gaurav Chakrabarty plays Subimal, a figure whose motivations appear intertwined with the core of the case.
Biswanath Basu as Sukhdev, Debesh Chattopadhyay as Bireshwar, Rishav Basu as Samiran, Sagnik Chatterjee as Abdul Qadir, and Swikriti Majumdar as Radhika each leave strong impressions, suggesting multiple layers to the narrative where no one is quite who they seem.
From the ancient ghats of Benaras to the vibrant ghats of Kolkata, Eken Babu’s adventures have captured hearts across the map. Continuing the spirit of mystery and celebration, Hoichoi studios hosted a grand Trailer Launch event for The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika at the scenic Polo Floatel, floating majestically on the river Ganga.
The atmosphere was electric as fans gathered to welcome their favourite detective. What made the evening even more special was the cheerful presence of little children, whose excitement and love for Eken Babu added an extra layer of warmth and joy to the occasion. The little fans sang songs for Eken Babu and brought him hand drawn posters – a precious and heart-touching moment for sure.
As the sun set over the river and the city lights flickered alive, the entire cast and crew — came together to unveil the much-anticipated trailer. Amidst laughter, nostalgia, and endless photo moments, the event turned into a grand celebration of stories, friendships, and the enduring magic of Eken Babu.
From solving mysteries in the narrow alleys of Benaras to winning hearts in the bustling streets of Kolkata, Eken Babu once again proved that no matter where he goes, adventure — and adoration — always follows.
Speaking about returning to the role of Eken Babu, Anirban Chakrabarti shared, "Every Eken Babu story is close to my heart, but this one feels special — because Benaras itself becomes part of the mystery. There's magic in those alleys, and we've tried to capture that magic on screen. The trailer launch was even special with all the kids, showering their love on Eken Babu"
Ishaa Saha, reflecting on her character, said, "Damini is a fascinating character — she's emotional yet strong, and the setting of Benaras amplifies her mystery. I can't wait for the audience to uncover her secrets."
Director Joydeep Mukherjee added, "Benaras is not just a backdrop — it is a living, breathing entity that influences every move of the characters. Through the explosion of colors in Masaan Holi, the ancient rituals, and the hidden greed of men, we explore a classic Eken Babu mystery with a fresh new flavor."
From pulse-pounding moments to heartwarming camaraderie, The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika promises a cinematic journey that is as spiritually rich as it is thrilling.
