Indian-origin Chandrika Tandon beats Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar to win Grammy Award
Los Angeles/IBNS: Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon defeated the likes of Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar to win the Grammy Award on Sunday, media reports said.
Tandon, 70, won in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for her music album Triveni.
Tandon shared the award with her collaborators, South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.
The other nominees which fought the award were Ricky Kej's Break of Dawn, Ryuichi Sakamoto's Opus, Anoushka Shankar's Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn and Radhika Vekaria's Warriors of Light.
Receiving the award, Tandon said on X, "... A moment that reminds me that music is love, music ignites the light within all of us, and, even in our darkest days, music spreads joy and laughter..."
