The sequel, which will also feature veteran actor Victor Banerjee, was officially announced in January with a motion poster.
Victor Banerjee, Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty are set to reprise their roles from the first installment, which was based on the 2014 blast which took place at Khagragarh in West Bengal's Burdwan district.
In Raktabeej, which had a run in the box office for over 100 years, Victor Banerjee's character was modelled after former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Abir had played a probe officer and Mimi a cop.
Actor Ankush Hazra, who had featured in an item dance and also played a surprise and crucial cameo in the first installment, will also feature in Raktabeej 2.
The second installment is scheduled for a release in this year's Durga Puja.
