Shah Rukh Khan wins maiden National Award for Jawan, Vikrant Massey joins him as Best Actor; Rani Mukerji named Best Actress
New Delhi/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won his maiden National Award for his 2023 film Jawan, ending a long wait for the honour in his illustrious career spanning over three decades.
Along with SRK, Vikrant Massey too has been named as the recipient of the National Award for Best Actor for his film 12th Fail that had earned critical acclaim.
Jawan is an action-based political commentary where several social issues of the country were raised.
In 12th Fail, Vikrant played the role of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who became an IPS officer battling poverty.
Senior Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has been named as the Best Actress for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.
Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway is based on the real-life story of Sagarika Chakraborty, whose children were taken away by Norwegian authorities over cultural differences in parenting in 2011.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday released the list of 71st National Film Awards.
