Sharmila Thakur's Puratawn marking veteran actress' return to Bengali films gets its trailer launched
Kolkata/IBNS: The legendary actress Sharmila Tagore returns to the Bengali film industry after 14 years with her upcoming film Puratawn, directed by Suman Ghosh alongside with Rituparna Sengupta and Indraneil Sengupta, whose trailer was launched on Monday.
The actress and producer of the film Rituparna Sengupta said, "We have a lot of hopes for our film Puratawn. As I already said, we have tried to do a wonderful film and I wish that I can gift you this film, starring renowned actress Sharmila Tagore, on this Poila Baishakh (Bengali New Year)."
The story presents a narrative of a mother and daughter in a harrowing situation in the film.

The mother is played by Sharmila Tagore and the daughter is played by Rituparna Sengupta as well as Indraneil Sengupta plays the role of the son-in-law in the film.
"This film is a very important film for me plus for the industry also because Sharmila Tagore is returning to Bengali film and that's a gift for the audience and gift for the entire industry," said actor Indraneil Sengupta.

Beside the lead cast, many veteran and eminent actors and personalities including Madhabi Mukherjee, Mamata Shankar Ghosh, Barun Chanda, Anamika Saha, Rita Bhimani, Raima Sen, Chaiti Ghoshal, Ekavali Khanna Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Nicolas Facino and others, were present to congratulate the makers of the film and gave their best wishes for the upcoming success of the same.

Veteran director Goutam Ghose was also present there and said, "Sharmila aka Rinku is a very old friend of mine and acted in my film Abar Aranye. She was fantastic. This is a joyful evening because Rituparna has produced a film and Suman, very dear to me, has directed it so beautifully."

Adding to which, Suman Ghosh, director of Puratawn, said, "I think a director's film is itself the word to express. I hope the audience will like it."
