TV actress Aditi Sharma, heading for divorce within 6 months of wedding, rebuts husband's charges
Mumbai/IBNS: Television actress Aditi Sharma has responded after her husband Abhineet Kaushik accused her of cheating on him at a time the couple are heading for a divorce within six months of marriage.
The blame game started after Abhineet and his counsel claimed that he got married to Aditi secretly at their home in November last year.
But the married life of the couple, who had been living together for years before the wedding, was not all rosy.
Speaking to India Forums, Abhineet said, "She was after me to get married for the past one and a half years, but I wasn’t ready. After much persuasion, I agreed. However, she insisted that no one could know because marriage was a taboo in the industry."
The trouble mounted in their marital life when Abhineet caught Aditi having a romantic relationship with her TV serial 'Apollena' co-star, Samarthya Gupta.
"She had just started shooting for the show. Even the producer, Karishma, was aware of it. Abhineet caught Aditi and Samarthya together, which led to an ugly confrontation," Abhineet's legal counsel Rakesh Shetty said.
Abhineet further claimed Aditi refused to acknowledge the marriage upon being confronted and called it "mock trial" and "not legally binding".
Abhineet claimed Aditi's family demanded Rs. 25 lakh to settle the matter.
Aditi responds
Speaking to India Forums, Aditi said her marriage with Abhineet was "private" but she never called it "secret marriage".
Aditi claimed she faced "unbearable marital disputes" and "a lot of misbehaviour".
"First of all, I never said ours was a 'mock marriage'. My family, my close friends, my relatives knew about it. It was not a secret thing, but it was private. I have loved him a lot and I did not want to lose him and that is why I got married to him," an excerpt of Aditi's statement reads.
"But after getting married within a month, I was facing unbearable marital disputes and there were real serious issues which I was facing, a lot of misbehaviour and other things which I cannot disclose right now because that is going to go ahead in the court," she added.
"Both families talked and decided that we should separate amicably. He has disrespected me and my family in front of our friends multiple times," the actress claimed.
