The unfancied Binodini Girls’ High School from the southern part of the city, represented by Souryadyuti Das, Ipshita Hawladar, Aditeya Mondal, and Soumili Naskar, held the centre stage as they reached the semi-final of the junior girls' category.

Binodini students, not known for any sporting excellence so far, moved up through the repechage system and defeated South Point High School in the earlier round.

The La Martiniere senior boys' fours team and the senior girls’ double scull teams from Ashok Hall and South Point also stole the limelight as they reached the finals of their respective events today.

While La Martiniere beat National High School, Ashok Hall and South Point beat National High School and La Martiniere Girls in their earlier rounds.

Other schools that have made it to the semi-final stages of the event include St Andrews School in senior boys' fours and South Point, Patha Bhavan, La Martiniere Boys, and Future Hope in junior boys' fours.

Kalidhan Institution, Lake Point, National High School (WB), and Khalsa in the senior boys' double scull; and Tirthapati Institution, Jagadamba High School, South Point, and St Lawrence in the junior boys’ double scull.

In the girls' section, others to enter the semi-finals of the junior girls’ double scull are Delhi Public School, Patha Bhavan, and Ballygunge Siksha Sadan. National High School also moved into the semi-final of the junior girls' fours.
