England pile up 669 against India in Manchester
Manchester/IBNS: England piled up 669 in the first innings of the fourth Test against India in Manchester on Saturday.

The hosts took a massive lead of 311 runs over India, who were bowled out for 358 in the first innings.
While Root slammed 150 off 248 balls (14 fours) to become the second highest Test run scorer on day three, England captain Ben Stokes on Saturday scored 141 off 198 balls (11 fours and three sixes).
Ben Duckett (94) and Zak Crawley (84) also contributed significantly to the English innings.
Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, who dismissed both Root and Stokes, picked four wickets conceding 143 runs.
Losing in Manchester is an absolute non-negotiable for India as that would deny them a chance to even square the series.
England are leading the five-match series 2-1.
