Smriti Mandhana's father discharged, fresh wedding date still uncertain amid viral online chat involving Palash Muchhal
Mumbai/IBNS: Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas, who was recently hospitalised following a heart attack, has been discharged, media reports said.
The hospitalization had forced the postponement of Smriti’s wedding, originally scheduled for Sunday.
While the family has received relief following the medical emergency, a new date for the wedding with singer Palash Muchhal is yet to be announced.
In a related update, Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a Mumbai hospital and was shifted to SVR Hospital in Goregaon on Tuesday, according to reports.
Following the postponement, Smriti and some of her teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, removed pre-wedding photos and videos from social media.
Meanwhile, social media erupted with screenshots of alleged online chats between Palash and choreographer Mary D’Costa.
Some netizens criticised Palash for perceived flirtatious messages, while others speculated that the purported affair may have caused a confrontation that contributed to Srinivas’ heart attack.
None of these claims have been verified, and the Reddit thread containing the screenshots has been deleted.
Neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has publicly responded to the allegations. IBNS has not independently verified the screenshots.
