Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday held an interaction with elected representatives and officials of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to review the overall development of the capital city, improvement of civic services and measures to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in administration.
The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister at the AMC conference hall, discussed the progress of various development works, implementation of projects and the difficulties faced by councilors (corporators) and officials while delivering civic services.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the positive changes brought in administrative functioning, increased transparency and the growing use of digital systems to speed up official work.
At the beginning of the meeting, AMC Additional Commissioner Mihir Kanti Gope presented details of different aspects of the city’s development along with relevant statistics before the Chief Minister. Later, Prof. Saha directly interacted with corporators from various wards and AMC officials.
While interacting with officials, the Chief Minister sought updates on the implementation of various projects, use of digital systems and the changes achieved in terms of work efficiency and speed. Officials informed him that the working culture of the municipal corporation had witnessed positive changes over the past five to six years, with greater transparency in project execution and a more effective administrative process.
The Chief Minister appreciated these developments and stressed the importance of maintaining coordination between public representatives and officials to ensure better services for citizens and timely completion of development projects with transparency.
AMC Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder said that the pace of development has continued not only across the state but also in Agartala city. He highlighted that transparency in implementing development projects has increased and the speed of work has improved significantly.
The Mayor also thanked elected representatives, officials, employees and others involved for their collective cooperation and coordination in ensuring that this year’s Durga Puja celebrations in the city were conducted smoothly and in an organized manner.
The meeting was attended by AMC Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, corporators from different wards, officials and employees of the municipal corporation.
