Congress support Motha’s demands, eyes on alliance

Addressing a press conference here at Congress Bhavan on Monday afternoon, Roy Barman accompanied by senior party leader Ashish Kumar Saha and AICC secretary Ms Szarita Laitphlang, Sudip appreciating the November 12 mass rally of Tipra-Motha said that it was well managed and a discipline huge gathering of thousands of indigenous people of the state.

He said that the demand of the Tipra-Motha for ‘greater Tipraland’ is under the periphery of the Constitution of India and who are they to oppose it or support it. But, whether their demand is possible or not, they need dialogue, said Sudip.

Reacting over a media question based on the statement made by Motha’s chairman and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma that Motha will not forged any pre-poll alliance with any other party, but need support they will form alliance after the poll results, Sudip said urged the media persons "age age hota hai kiya dekte jao" (what will be taken place in future, let’s watch).

Castigating the both central and state government over their alleged fake promises said that when he was in BJP he asked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the package of empowerment of ADC, then he replied that "empowerment of ADC means empowerment of Christianity". He said that if the mindset of top leaders of BJP over upliftment of indigenous people, then they can realize what they will do for the ADC population.

While, demanding an immediate special audit over the donations and expenditures from the ‘Chief Minister’s relief fund’, which has received crore of public money during the Covid pandemic, Sudip said that during pandemic thousands of common people, NGOs, organizations and government agencies and department donated crore of amount of CM relief fund and Central government has also given good amount of money to combat with pandemic, but after passing of years, the state people are in =total dark over uses of money.

He said that on behalf of common people of the state, Congress is demanding a special audit to unearth the real transparency of the government before the assembly election and within December next.

Sudip also criticized the state government over non-fulfilment of their poll commitments and claimed that Chief Minister had uttered only falsehood over the state of affairs, specially the law-and-order situation. He said that law and order are deteriorating day by day and the police administration is still working as a team of the ruling party.

Sudip said that Pradesh Congress will observe the "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" in all 60 assembly constituencies of the state with an objective to ensure that the concerns and demands of the people reach Delhi.

On November 19 morning AICC general secretary and senior leader Joyram Ramesh will inaugurate the ‘Yatra’ in Agartala and state’s Congress in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar will inaugurate the ‘Yatra’ in Dharmanagar and Kailasahar on the same day. The Congress workers and all leaders will expedite their movements against ‘misrule’ of the BJP-IPFT government with the inauguration of "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" on November 19 in all 16 sectors across the state simultaneously and will strengthen its movements against oppression politics of BJP to oust the autocratic government in next assembly elections.
