Sensation prevailed at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital (GB Hospital) of Agartala after a laptop belonging to a doctor was allegedly stolen from the hospital premises. Following a complaint, police of NCC Police Station launched an investigation and managed to recover the stolen laptop along with two mobile phones. One person has also been arrested in connection with the theft.
Police sources said that a laptop used by a doctor at GB Hospital was stolen from the hospital premises. After the incident came to light, the hospital authorities and the concerned doctor lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, New Capital Complex (NCC) police station initiated an investigation and pursued various leads and information related to the theft.
During the course of the investigation, police gathered crucial information and conducted an operation based on the leads. The stolen laptop and two mobile phones were subsequently recovered. Police also arrested a person on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The recovered items have been taken into police custody, while investigators are examining whether any other persons were involved in the theft.
NCC police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Paritosh Das provided details of the investigation. He said police began the probe immediately after receiving the complaint and arrested the accused based on the findings of the investigation. The stolen laptop and two mobile phones were recovered from the accused, he said.
Police are questioning the arrested person to gather further information about the incident. Investigators are also looking into how and from where the items were stolen. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
