The month-long “Khelo Tripura, Sustha Tripura” campaign ended with vow to zero tolerance against drugs and to make Tripura a drug free state. The concluding day “Khelo Tripura, Sustha Tripura” campaign on Friday starts with a big awareness rally in presence of Chief Minister, ICA Minister and other dignitaries and eminent  Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam stormed the pre-Christmas evening with his melody  and music at Astable ground.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury flagged off the rally from Umakanta Academy and after passing various thoroughfares of Agartala city, the colourful rally ended at Vivekananda stadium (Astable ground).

In the evening, the Sports and Youth Affairs department organized the conclusion ceremony  “Khelo Tripura, Sustha Tripura” campaign to boost up the sporting activities across the state to achieve the goal of drug free Tripura.

As declared , Chief Minister, ICA Minister, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder and dignitaries in the dais distributed sports  accessories to few clubs of the state capital  worth of Rs. 20,000 each club .

Later, this is for the first time in Tripura, a Drone show has been organized by IIT Delhi depicting different slides with lighting in the air. Altogether 250 drones at a time take off from Hindi HS school ground and drones show slides with different awareness messages for drug free Tripura.

In the middle of the programme, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury entered into the stage and amidst huge applauds of the audience, they all felicitated the singer Sonu Niga, with bouquet, ‘Risa’ and mementos replicating Mata Tripura Sundari temple and a image of Goddess Durga. 

While, in presence of thousands spectators in every nook and corner of the Vivekananda stadium, the musical sensation and renowned Bollywood playback singer with his big orchestra enthralled the huge crowd through different soulful songs and dancing items. Till the last report, amidst tight security Chief Minister, other council of ministers, many prominent leaders, top officials and other dignitaries along with thousands of spectators are enjoying the enthralling musical concert by Sonu Nigam.
