Massive health infrastructure drive going on across Tripura to give better healthcare services, CM

The state government is working continuously to protect the health of the state’s people, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

On the third and last day of the first session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister and leader of the House replying the calling attention raised by the BJP MLA Ranjit Das , Dr Saha said that to ensure better health services to the people living in the remotest corner of the state, massive infrastructural drive has been going on across the state.

He said that under the National Health Mission (NHM), unique measures are being taken to provide basic health services to the people living in the remotest corner of the state.

Giving details of the health infrastructural developmental drive across the state, Dr Saha said that  the trauma care services have been introduced in three district hospitals including  Kulai, Udaipur and Santirbazar and construction work for trauma care is going on in Dharmanagar hospital.

Three community health centers has been upgraded into subdivisional hospitals including Panisagar, Kumarghat and Karbook hospitals, said Dr Saha and added that  a medical store will be set up at Unakoti district hospital and up gradation work of Gandacherra subdivisional hospital has also been started.

He said that the construction work for a 20-bedded hospital at Longtharai Valley is in its final stage.

Dr Saha said that the construction works for  six mortuaries under NHM at Gomati district hospital, North district, South district and Unakoti district hospitals.

Under the “Suvarna Jayanti Tripura Nirman Yojana”, the 16 staff quarters each in Kanchanpur and Amarpur subdivisional hospitals are in progress, said Dr Saha and added that  maternal ICU services to be set up at IGM, GB, South district, North district, Khowai district and Unakoti district hospitals.

Under the Emergency Covid Response Plant (ECRP-2), all the district hospitals will be equipped with paediatric care units, said Dr Saha and added that for district and subdivisional hospitals, 16 ECG and 22 X-Ray machines were purchased.

He also said that to provide better healthcare facilities, the dialysis services and CT-Scan are available  in all district hospitals along with IGM and GB Hospitals.

Speaking in the calling attention notice, the Chief Minister also  said that the Melaghar subdivisional hospital will be upgraded into first referral unit  and government has received the sanctioned of Union Health Minister to make first referral units to Teliamura, Amarpur, Sabroom, Kanchanpur, Gandacherra and Chailengta subdivisional hospitals.

He added that the blood bank services have been started at Teliamura hospital and in phase wise all the subdivisional hospitals will be equipped with operation theatre facilities. He said that a massive development of health services are being conducted in the state and different kinds of complex operations are also being performed in the state successfully.

Dr Saha also informed the House that the post of doctors and specialist doctors are given postings to different hospitals of the state and government has taken measures to recruit health staff including nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, radiographers, ophthalmologists and other technical persons including MPWs.
