Tension erupted in the Khowai Chowmuhani area under Hejamara Block after a Tipra Motha candidate and his supporters were attacked by a section of protesters  of surrendered rebels while attempting to pass through a road blockade after filing their nomination papers.

According to Tipra Motha, those who had gone to submit their nomination papers and were returning through the road where the blockade was underway were allegedly stopped and attacked by a section of the protesters.
