The number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Tripura has been steadily increasing; with tourist arrivals registering a 3.15 percent rise in the 2025–26 financial year compared to 2024–25, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury informed the state Assembly on Thursday.

On the first day of the Monsoon session of the Assembly on Thursday, the Minister was replying to a question raised by MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, said that 5,45,299 tourists visited Tripura during the 2023–24 financial year, including 4,69,328 domestic tourists and 75,971 foreign tourists.

In the 2024–25 financial year, the total number of tourist arrivals increased to 7, 07,173, comprising 6, 27,705 domestic tourists and 79,468 foreign tourists.

According to the Minister, Tripura recorded a further increase in tourist arrivals during 2025–26, with 7, 29,414 tourists visiting the state. Of them, 7, 10,243 were domestic tourists, while 19,171 were foreign tourists.
