Youth have key role in building a developed country, society: CM

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday said that Yuva Shakti is the main asset of the country as they will take forward the task of nation building in future.

He also said that to motivate youths towards patriotism, the present state Government has taken multiple initiatives.

Dr Saha addressed the state-level Yuva Utsav organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala  on Wednesday.

“Youth society is the future driving force of the country. The future of the country depends on the youth. Youth have an important role in building a developed country and society. Because about 65 percent of our country's human resources are youth. The youth society should come forward with the idea of moral education as well as a sense of duty for the development of the society and the country,” Dr. Saha said.

He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to take the country forward by adopting the Panchprana, which are the goals of a developed India: freedom from all thoughts of subjugation, pride in heritage, Indian unity and solidarity, and civic duty.

“The youth festival is being organized keeping in mind this five-pointed call of the Prime Minister. The main objective of this festival is to inspire the youth with the ideals of India's freedom struggle and patriotism,” he added.

Referring to a quote by Swami Vivekananda, Dr. Saha said, “It is not possible to develop as real human beings without the full development of the inner strength of the youth. Therefore, the Prime Minister has initiated various programs, including Har Ghar Tiranga and Meri Mati Mera Desh, to inspire the youth to think patriotically. Through these programs, freedom fighters have been remembered with respect, in addition to instilling patriotic thoughts among the youth.” During the program, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy was also present.
