Colorado shopping mall shooting leaves one person dead
One person has been killed and three others have been injured as a result of a shooting in a shopping mall in the US city of Colorado Springs on Christmas Eve, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Monday.
"At 4:34 pm on Sunday, December 24, 2023, CSPD received a call for service for shots fired at the Citadel Mall. Officers responded and determined that a fight had broken out between two groups of people. One adult male was found deceased in the mall from a gunshot wound," the police said in a statement on X.
The police have also said that two adult men were transported to local hospitals in serious condition, "suffering from at least one gunshot wound each" and that one woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
"The mall has been cleared and closed," the police said.
The officers have detained multiple people and are working to determine their involvement, the police added.
