Epstein Files: Images show Prince Andrew crouching over woman, spark fresh embarrassment
Photographs showing disgraced former British royal Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with a woman lying on the floor are among millions of documents released by the United States Department of Justice as part of its latest disclosure related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The images, made public on Friday, show Andrew crouching over the woman in what appear to be informal settings.
In one photograph, Andrew is seen with his hand placed on the woman’s stomach, while in another he looks directly at the camera. In all three images, Andrew is barefoot and dressed in jeans and a white polo shirt.
The identity of the woman, as well as the time and location where the photographs were taken, remains unknown.
The release marks another setback for Andrew, the younger brother of Britain’s King Charles III, who was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages last year following years of controversy linked to his association with Epstein.
He no longer uses the title of “prince” or the designation “Duke of York” in an official capacity.
The newly released images follow an earlier batch of Epstein-related files published last month, which included a photograph of Andrew lying across the laps of five women at Sandringham, the royal estate in Norfolk.
Andrew has previously denied wrongdoing and has consistently rejected allegations of sexual misconduct.
The photographs form part of a massive release of material under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was approved last year.
According to US authorities, the disclosure includes more than three million pages of documents, over 2,000 videos and approximately 180,000 images related to Epstein and his longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
The latest tranche of records also contains emails suggesting Epstein discussed introducing a Russian woman to Andrew.
In a 2010 email addressed to “The Duke,” Epstein described the woman, then 26, as “clever and beautiful” and suggested Andrew might enjoy having dinner with her during her visit to London.
In response, Andrew asked what Epstein had told the woman about him and whether she would be carrying any “message” on his behalf, the documents show.
The records do not indicate whether such a meeting ever took place, though later correspondence refers to the possibility of a dinner at Buckingham Palace.
Epstein died in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, in a death ruled a suicide.
