Ex-YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki's son Marco Troper,19, found dead
Marco Troper, 19, son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, was found dead inside the dormitory of the University of California, Berkeley, media reports said.
The Berkeley Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but he died at the scene, UC Berkeley police was quoted as saying by KRON4.
The cause of his death is still not known.
The police said there was no sign of foul play.
Troper’s grandmother Esther Wojcicki suspects the teen died due to a drug overdose.
“He ingested a drug, and we don’t know what was in it,” she told SFGATE.
“One thing we do know, it was a drug," she said.
“We want to prevent this from happening to any other family,” Wojcicki said.
In a Facebook post, she wrote: "Tragedy hit my family yesterday My beloved grandson Marco Troper, age 19 passed away yesterday. Our family is devastated beyond comprehension."
"Marco's life was cut too short. And we are all devastated, thinking about all the opportunities and life experiences that he will miss and we will miss together. Marco, we all love you and miss you more than you will ever know," she said.
Who is Susan Diane Wojcicki?
Susan Diane Wojcicki was the chief executive officer (CEO) of YouTube from 2014 to 2023.
Wojcicki married Google's director of product management Dennis Troper in Belmont, California, on August 23, 1998.
They have five children.
