IDF says it conducted precise strikes on Iran
The Israel Defense Forces on Friday said it conducted precise strikes on military targets in Iran.
"In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel—right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran,"IDF said in a post on X.
“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.”

"The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th—on seven fronts—including direct attacks from Iranian soil,"the forces said.

IDF said Israel has the right to respond.
"We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel," IDF said.
Updating on the strike, IDF said: " I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel. We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel."
Several explosions were reportedly heard around Tehran.
So far, Iranian state media has dismissed the attacks as unsuccessful, which experts tell the BBC is a typical response from Iran after such incidents.
Top UN officials in Lebanon expressed alarm on Friday over an Israeli strike that hit an apartment building in southern Lebanon, killing three journalists and wounding three others.
The strike occurred in Hasbaya in Nabatiyeh, outside the area of operations of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The building housed several journalists and other media personnel.
Expressing concern, Deputy UN Spokesperson Farhan Haq, stressed: “When journalists, protected under international humanitarian law, are targeted, so too are our fundamental rights to the freedom of information and expression.”
Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, and Imran Riza, the Humanitarian Coordinator in the country, also echoed the concerns.
“All parties in conflict must uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law,” Haq added, during the regular press briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.
