Iran's top leader Ayatollah Khamenei says Muslims around the world will be unstoppable if Israel's incursions continue in Gaza
Tehran: No power in the world will be able to restrict Muslims across the world if Israel's crimes in Gaza continue, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said, media reported.
"No one can confront Muslims and the resistance forces if the Zionist regime's crimes against Palestinians continue ... the bombardment of Gaza must stop immediately," Khamenei said, Reuters reported citing the Iranian state TV.
"The Zionist regime's officials should be tried for their crimes against Palestinians in Gaza," he added.
Iran calls armed groups aligned to its ideology around the Middle East as part of the Resistance Axis.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran's clerical rulers have openly supported the Palestinian cause.
Tehran provides funding and arms to Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza.
Hamas is a Palestinian militant organization that has both political and armed wings. It was founded with the goal of liberating Palestine, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, from Israeli control and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Following an attack by Hamas on October 7, in which the terror group killed 1,300 people, mainly civilians, Israel has launched extensive military operations.
These operations have resulted in 2,800 casualties in Gaza, with approximately a quarter of them being children.
Around half of Gaza's 2.3 million population have been displaced from their homes.
The region is under a total blockade, leading to shortages of essential supplies like food, fuel, and medical resources.
