Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Lebanon continues to deteriorate amid escalating regional tensions.
According to United Nations officials, more than 1,000 people have been killed and 2,584 injured in Lebanon since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran.
“Recent escalation has killed or wounded the equivalent of one classroom of children every day,” said Ted Chaiban of UNICEF.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that Israeli strikes have also claimed the lives of 31 healthcare workers.
Ongoing displacement orders have triggered repeated population movements, with over 1.2 million people displaced. This includes 134,439 internally displaced persons currently housed in 636 collective shelters, primarily in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, amid growing shortages of shelter and rising protection risks.
