Pakistan: Suicide attack in Peshawar leaves two cops killed
A suicide attack in Pakistan's Peshawar city on Sunday left at least two policemen killed, media reports said.
Security forces have heightened counter terrorism operations in Pakistan following a spike in terror attacks, especially in KP and Balochistan regions.
“Two policemen, including a sub-inspector, were martyred, and two were injured in a blast,” Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Khan told Dawn News.
He said a police mobile was attacked in the region.
The incident occurred amid the recent escalation of tension between India and Pakistan in recent times, following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 non-Muslim tourists dead on April 22.
